Zac Brown Band
Who performed the most wanted and number one hit songs like Chicken Fried, Toes, Highway 20 Ride, Free and Knee Deep? Only one band comes to mind and that is the Zac Brown Band.
The Zac Brown Band plays country music, southern rock and folk. The lineup of this band comprises Zac Brown, Jimmy De Martini, John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, Chris Fryar and Clay Cook. All of them perform their very best to provide outstanding music to their audience.
The band began in 2002 by Zac Brown who was born on July 31, 1978 in Cumming, Georgia. He attended Mashburn Elementary School and graduated from Lumpkin Co. High School. He had been interested in music since he was a child. He played classical guitar at the young age of eight. When he was a bit grown up, he used to play solo gigs in local venues. When he attended the University of West Georgia, he made a band. Zac would perform both as solo and with the band he used to play dates in local restaurants to earn money in order to pay for school. Zac and the other band members decided to record a CD but during the recording sessions, they were disbanded.
In 2002, Zac formed the band Zac Brown Band and they started touring with an extensive tour schedule. Zac started his own label in 2003 by the name Home Grown which is now Southern Ground. Zac opened a music club and restaurant in 2004 in Lake Oconee, Georgia. In this project, his father collaborated with him and kept its name as Zac’s Place. The band also plays here on the weekends and they bought a bus on which they keep themselves busy on tours when they hit the roads.
The first album by the band was released in 2004 by the title “Far From Einstyne.” The next year they released “Home Grown” and “Live from the Rock Bus Tour” was their live album released in 2007.
In 2008, the band was signed to Live Nation Records who released “Chicken Fried” in 2008 to country radio. In the same year, the band’s album “The Foundation” was released by Atlantic Records. The single “Chicken Fried” went on to be a smashing hit and reached the number one spot on the country charts.
In January 2009, the band released its second single “Whatever It Is” which reached the number two spot. The third single was “Toes,” released in July 2009 and it also peaked at number one. The following was “The Highway 20 Ride” which also occupied the place of number one on the charts. The fifth single of this album was “Free” and ir was released in August 2010. This amazingly also topped out at number one.
Only a few bands make their roots so quickly only at the base of their debut album and Zac Brown is one of them. The band has since been nominated a number of times for different categories. They received four nominations for the 2009 CMA Awards for New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video of the year for “Chicken Fried.”
The band has also received three Grammy nominations for Best Country Album, Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocals and Best New Artist. In 2009, they were also nominated for three ACM Awards, Album of the Year, Top Vocal Group and Entertainer of the Year. Zac Brown is undoubtedly a matchless name in the world of music for all of their many accomplishments in such a short period of time.
