Bridge School Benefit Tickets

What do Neil Young, Green Day, Foster the People, Guns’n’Roses, The Flaming Lips, and Jack White all have in common other than their passion for music? All of them are going to make an appearance and perform at the annual Bridge School Benefit concert. The concert is always held in the month of October at the Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View, California and is specifically organized by singer-songwriter Neil Young himself with help from his wife Pegi.

The concert began back in 1986 and has been going on every year save for the one instance in 1987. The event is a non-profit beneficial event for the students of Bridge School. The institution helps children who require special communication assistance and students with physical impairments. The Bridge School Benefit concert is pretty popular for showcasing high profile performers. Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Metallica, even Beatles icon Paul McCartney have all performed at the Bridge School Benefit. Neil Young, already a very popular singer, makes a point to perform as well. The performers usually play acoustically but this is more of a tradition and not really a general mandate.

For the 2012 Bridge School Benefit, Neil Young and Pegi have really worked up their connections in the music industry to haul in some really popular names. One of the biggest namedrops is Foster the People, a rising indie-pop band that became famous for their song Pumped Up Kicks. This is supported by the appearance of Axl Rose and the prestigious Guns’n’Roses, a band that just recently earned their Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame award.

Along with these two big bands is Green Day, the commercial pop-punk band that is usually accredited for reviving the punk scene back in the 1990’s. Other performers include Jack White, once a member of the The White Stripes duo, The Flaming Lips, Sarah McLachlan, Steve Martin, Lucinda Williams, Gary Clark Jr., and k.d. Lang. Neil Young will be performing with Crazy Horse, a band that goes back to 1972 and have been associated with Neil Young throughout the years while releasing their own albums as well.

The 2012 Bridge School Benefit concert will be held specifically on October 20 and October 21.
