Singer, song-writer and musician Miranda Lambert was born on November 10, 1983 in Longview, Texas. She spent her childhood in a small town Lindale where her parents ran a private detective agency. She used to listen the country music of Merle Haggard and Guy Clark due to her father’s interest in this, who was also a good guitarist and song-writer himself.
Miranda participated in her first country music talent show when she was only ten. She showed her outstanding singing skills in a weekly variety show on Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue in Arlington, Texas and there her stardom started. In 2001, she appeared in a teen comedy, Slap Her She’s French and in a commercial, and then she later became famous.
Lambert was inspired by the writings of Emmylou Harris and Merle Haggard and it led her to write songs at her own. She could play guitar, so she decided to form her own group Texas Pride in her teens. Right after her graduation, she desired a career in music world. She was richly appreciated and encouraged by her parents. They supported her and helped finance and promote her first recording. She also gave an audition for a new country music reality show, Nashville Star. She passed the test and was the runner-up in the show.
Miranda signed with Sony Music and released her first single under this label. The song called, Me and Charlie Talking was an up-tempo tale of puppy love and was much appreciated. She released the album Kerosene in 2004 and went on tour with some other famous stars.
Kerosene was a modest hit and soon it reached at the top of the country music charts. It successfully sold over 900,000 copies. Its lyrics were quite impressive and the album received very encouraging reviews. The album earned Lambert a number of nominations from the Academy of Country Music and she won ACM Award for Top New Female Vocalist. She was also nominated for Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Country Music Association’s Horizon Award which is given to country music’s top new comer.
In 2007, her album Ex-Girlfriend was released including eleven tracks and eight of them were written by her. Soon the album reached at the top charts and then peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 charts. The title track of the album was a big success and the single Gunpowder & Lead also hit the top 20. On September 29, 2009, Lambert released her third CD by the title Revolution. Most of the tracks are written by her. In year 2010, she went for a tour to 22 cities for the promotion of the album. The last single from this album was Heart Like Mine and was released on the beginning of 2011. It became number one hit single on the country charts. Her new album Four the Record is announced to be released on November 1, 2011.
